Once again NOWM is proud to bring you a veritable Smorgasboard of Schmaltz, Schtick, Song and Swan-like swaying. The festival starts on Friday with the infamous "Bardic Ellipse" at the Magic Carpet Kavehane. Pitch your tent and join us at o-dark thirty for evening of shared stories and songs.

When the sun rises on the War Maneuvers, take a break in the shade. Take a class, shop and enjoy wandering musicians, spontaneous merriment at the Kavehane, or the Lunch break "Mini-Hafla" at the Pavilion.

End your day with a tasty beverage at the Knotty Dragon and the opportunity to watch some of the best performing artists in the Knowne World at Play.

Who knows what door will open when the Floor opens to Storytellers, Musicians, Singers and Dancers after a day of Battle.

  • Friday, dark-thirty. All are invited to stop in the Magic Carpet Kavehane after you've got your camp set up.
  • Saturday, 11am - 4:30pm - the Kavehane will be open for business all afternoon Saturday.
  • Saturday, approximately 10pm. Following the scheduled performances in the Knotty Dragon Tavern, all are invited to perform.

Magic Carpet Kavehane

Barista Vente: Lord Commodore Robin McCauley

Located on the northwest corner of the Village Green, The Magic Carpet Kavehane (a notorious Inne of ill repute, frequented by Lay-Abowts and Bardes) is a Celtistani bardic coffee house which serves Turkish coffee and other vaguely Middle Eastern delights, all for the price of a song, a tune, a tale, or a dance.

The Magic Carpet will be open Friday night, from dark-thirty on, for early arrivals. It will reopen from (approximately) 11am to 4:30pm Saturday.

For a full description of the Magic Carpet, see this (external site).
